Main and Sub Menus (Company Handbook and Policies and Procedures Section).
ISIS has built into the Content manager a great tool to post your Company Employee handbook along with policies and procedures. Remember since the security inside ISIS is group based it is very easy to add Menus, Sub menus and pages to the Content section to allow and restrict access to any of these areas for users. Based on the users Read, Write, Add and Delete (RWAD) privileges they can just view or edit the hand book or Polices and procedures content.
Example -You want a Sales manager to see all the Handbook and Policies for him and his sales team. You even want him to be able to update certain sales related content in the Handbook or Policies. However, you don't want him able to see Human Resource sections at all. You would create a user group called Sales and sub groups Sales Manager and Sales Person. Then give him RWAD access to these groups. You would not give him any access to the Human resources groups.
To create a New Main Menu item -Select "Main Menus" button form the Content manager. Then select the "Add Main Menu" button. Type in the title you want the menu to be. The Ordering field allows you to put a number in to show what number the menu will be in the drop down list. Then select the Sub-menu display type. There are three types: Drop-down, Columns and Site Map. The Drop-down menu display drops down a list when the main menu item is selected. The Columns shows the Sub menus as a list of columns embedded into the main menu page and the Site map shows a list embedded at the bottom of the main menu page. You can then hold down the "Ctrl" key on your keyboard and select the User groups that you want to have access to this Main menu. Later you can de-activate this main menu by turning off the active check box. Select the "add" button to complete the creation of a main menu item. Slect the "Add" button to create ehe sub menu.
To create a New Sub Menu item - Select "Sub Menus" button form the Content manager. Then select what main menu from the drop-down that you want the sub menu to exist under. If any other sub menus exist for that main menu item you will see them in a list on the page with the Ordering, title, Parent main menu and Active status. Select the "Add sub menu" button and the options here are just like adding a Main menu. The External application allows you to point a person who clicks on the sub menu to an external web based application or website if you would like. The Authenticate option and Auto Log in a user to the site you direct them to can be chosen. Get with our ISIS support them to help set up Authentication user names and passwords.
